Hi, I’m Michelle!

When we sit down together, I start with the belief that everything you do makes sense.  Even though you have habits that aren’t serving you, those habits have developed for good reason.  You are a survivor with the hardwiring to keep yourself moving.

The main tool that I use in session is Lifespan Integration (LI).  This is a gentle method which works to create new neural pathways, allowing you to overcome past events and patterns of relating to others that may have kept you stuck for decades.  LI takes us way beyond needing to just try harder. With LI, doing things differently will come more naturally because it is creating lasting changes in your brain. One of the best things about LI is that it is effective for anyone with anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, or neglect and even for individuals who have no specific negative memories.

Many of my clients come with specific memories that they just can’t shake. They have often worked hard by themselves or with other therapists and yet still find themselves having flashbacks, fears that feel irrational, increasing levels of stress and anxiety, and feel like they have less and less control over their lives. Other clients come in confused about why they feel so unloveable when nothing particularly awful happened in their childhoods. These clients often feel like they just can’t move forward in life, can’t make the changes they want to make, and feel like they are constantly out of steam. Some have persistent and sometimes unexplained health issues that also seem to drag them down.

Eating disorders is another area that I specialize in. They have been hugely misunderstood in both the medical and mental health communities. We now have much better science about how the brain and metabolism are involved and a clearer understanding of what health actually is and how we can get there. Just as with all of my clients, I love helping people with eating disorders feel like they can be themselves without the heaviness of the cultural judgements and without feeling like their body is the enemy.

Does this resonate with you? I offer a free 15-minute online consultation so that you can decide if we’re a good fit.
